Efstratios LOIZOU is a Prof. of Applied Economics in the Division of Agricultural Economics - Department of Agriculture of the University of Western Macedonia, GREECE. During 2018 with sabbatical he served as senior researcher in the ERA chair of the Dept. of Bioeconomy and Systems Analysis, Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG), in Poland. Ηe is a graduate of the Department of Economics at the University of Macedonia-Greece (1992) and holds MSc. in Agricultural Economics from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (1995). In 2001, he received his PhD in Agricultural Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Department of Agricultural Economics of the School of Agriculture. He works in the field of Agricultural-rural economics with specification to Input-Output Analysis, Regional-Rural modeling, interindustry linkages and impacts analysis, rural and regional development, Common Agricultural Policy, Agro-food sector, precision agriculture and Innovations in agriculture. He participated as team member in several national and EU projects (Horizon, FP, INTERREG, TEMPUS, DG AGRI TENDERS). His scientific work related to the construction of regional Input-Output tables and modeling; Agriculture and Common Agricultural Policy reform impacts assessment, on employment and income; agro-food sector and food industries; precision agriculture applications and education and training in agricultural economics. He published his work in several referred journals, conference volumes, collective volumes, research reports and conferences.
